Room adds a short, tight ambience that makes a dry vocal sound recorded rather than synthetic — the safest choice for speech and podcasts. Hall gives a long, musical tail suited to sustained instruments and ballads. Cathedral is very long and will blur anything rhythmic, so it works as an effect rather than as a space. If you cannot decide, start with Room at a low mix.

For dialogue and podcasts, 5–15% is usually plenty; listeners notice reverb long before they can name it. For vocals in music, 20–40% is common. Above about 50% the direct sound starts losing intelligibility, and consonants disappear first — which is why heavily reverbed speech becomes tiring to follow even when it sounds impressive for a few seconds.
